Recreational League Registration for 2017 will open on January 12, 2017.

Players are assigned to teams (based on school) on a First-Registered / First-Assigned basis.

Program Mission Statement

The Recreational Baseball programs of FCBC promote an educational and instructional program for individuals in the Fort Collins area. FCBC Recreational Baseball promotes full player participation and aspires to develop healthy attitudes toward sportsmanship and respect for authority while providing instruction, skill development, and encouraging young people to enjoy the game.

In-Town Teams

  • All in-town Recreational teams are provided with team equipment: bats, practice & game balls, catcher’s equipment (in appropriate leagues), and batting helmets. Players are allowed to use their own equipment as long as it meets National Safety Standards. Players who use their own catcher’s gear MUST use a chest protector with a “tail” (which protects below the belt). All catcher’s helmets MUST have full ear protection (no skull caps), as well as an additional throat guard.
  • Teams for Summer are based on the grade of the child in the current school year (grade at time of registration). Exception to this is for players in the Intermediate League. Their age determination is based on an April 30 / May 1 cutoff. For example: to play in 10u Intermediate, a player must be 10 years old through April 30 — can turn 11 on May 1.
  • Volunteer Coaches will contact players beginning in early May. Coaches will typically conduct practices after 4:30pm in the beginning of the season. They may have two to three practices prior to the start of league games.
  • FCBC does not guarantee Coaches for teams. We depend on the support of parents to coach teams. If you are interested in Coaching please CLICK HERE and complete the Rec Coaches Application.
  • Game Schedules will be posted to the club website by May 10.
  • Teams are generally comprised of boys and girls from the same school.
  • All Recreational players will purchase the FCBC approved uniform from GOJO Sports. (Intermediate League uniform is included in the Team Fee.)
  • FCBC provides all Baseball Equipment for teams, except for baseball gloves and shoes.
  • Players are assigned to teams based on the school they attend on a “First-Registered / First-Assigned” basis. Players are not allowed to “play up” in Recreational age groups — if a player is advanced in skill, we encourage them to play Intermediate or Competitive baseball.
  • Practices will start in early/mid May. The coach, using general input from FCBC, will determine dates, times, location, and frequency.
  • Games are played at elementary school fields, junior high fields, and City of Fort Collins neighborhood parks and community parks.
  • Games will most likely not be played at the school you attend.
  • 1st Grade League and older may play some games on Saturdays if necessary (the vast majority of games will be played on weekdays).
